LOW FREQUENCY PASSIVE SEISMIC (Infrasonic Geophysical Locator of Anomalies)
Our collaborators for PST have entered into a technology transfer agreement with Russian Academy of Sciences for providing services for Low Frequency passive Seismic Surveys. Russian Academy of Sciences is the founder of the technology Infrasonic Geophysical locator of anomalies, which is more popularly known a Low frequency passive seismic for direct indication of hydrocarbon.
The basic idea of a method is that the deposit of fluid, being a geological heterogeneity, alters the seismic wave field, and exhibits as low-frequency seismic signals. Another phenomenon is transformation of Earth natural seismicity to the energy of the fluid motion in the deposit porous media. This motion generates a deterministic micro seismic noise (signal) of the deposit, which then is registered on the Earth surface by this technology. The nature of this signal is governed by characteristics of the reservoir, and characteristic of the fluid.
In this technology signals of ultra-low range of frequencies (0.1 – 10 Hz), inherent only to hydrocarbon saturated pore spaces of a reservoir are Recorded and analyzed.
This technology allows to evaluate the depth and thickness of hydrocarbon reservoir, to apply this method for point measurements, for example, for rejection of the structures revealed by the seismic survey, and for profile, area measurements to reveal the anomalies and their further research with the other geophysical methods…
This technology detects perspective hydrocarbon saturation zones in the shortest time with the lowest expenditure.
